It’s amazing sometimes how in the midst of frustration, you find amazing inspiration. Doing a bunch of chores Friday, I finally came to the realization of how I wish to end my book. Wasn’t thinking about the end of the book, just thinking how things were progressing and then eureka it was there!

OMG so weirdly good
It took the better part of 2 1/2 weeks to organize a time-line so that all my characters arrive properly at the same time/place/space.
Who said writing was easy? LOL
Little things about writing
Happiness is when you’re doing research for a historical fiction novel and you find out your biggest worry about accuracy is solved by inventions created at the same time your novel takes place. #GreatCitiesonFire
If you could go back in time…
Coming to the conclusion of my manuscript, I’m definitely of the mind if I had the chance to go back in time, I’d choose the years 1868 – 1872 for the events after the Civil War as much as the two greatest fires in American History, the Chicago Fire and the Great Boston Fire. 🙂
What about you? What time(s) would you go back to? (Historically, not personally).
Name that character
Have subtly referred to a character thoughout the story. Need to name him.
Austrian Descent; Mid to late 20s, The year is 1872.
Choices –
Ekhard – Sacred
Garon – Guardian
Ingel – Angel
Ubel – Evil
Wray – Worthy
Zelig – Blessed
Today in history
144 years ago, one of the most destructive fires in American history occurred right here in Boston. The sad part is, almost no one knows about it. My question is, what if the fire was set?
Back in time
Writing about the 1870’s I’m amazed at how much I’ve learned over the time span I’ve been working on in this book. Things like: Literally the same year I’m writing about is when Police Artist Sketching came about (I wanted to verify that they might have had it for one of my chapters, and lo and behold, it started that very same year), types of Fire Alarms which came out that same year, and so much more I’d probably give the book away.
The book has become a lesson in history as well as a fictional account OF the history. Very glad to be back at this.
Thanks to all my family, friends, and students
Thanks to all of you for encouraging me to get back to writing. It’s so amazing the simple pleasure of putting fingers to keyboard and coming out with a stream of consciousness. Hopefully this stream becomes a reality and the final product!
Incredible Research
Just returned from the Windy City to do more background research. Thanks #PalmerHouseHilton
